Phenyl is a household staple for a reason — it disinfects as it cleans. Used correctly, it leaves floors genuinely germ-free with a long-lasting fragrance, not just surface-shiny.
1. Get the dilution right
Mix 30–40ml of Miss Chemist Phenyl with one full bucket (about 5 litres) of water for everyday mopping. For heavily used areas like entryways, you can go slightly stronger.
2. Let it sit before you rinse
For germ-prone spots — near the bathroom door, the kitchen bin — apply a little extra and let it sit for a minute before mopping over it. This gives the disinfectant time to actually work, not just pass over the surface.
3. Ventilate while you mop
Keep windows or doors open while mopping and while the floor dries. This helps the fragrance settle properly instead of feeling overpowering in a closed room.
4. Store away from children's reach
Like any disinfectant, keep the bottle tightly capped and stored well out of reach of children and pets when not in use.
A consistent, correctly-diluted mopping routine with phenyl is one of the simplest ways to keep floors both clean and hygienically safe, every single day.
